Agona Platform Vessel
Art, Collectible objects, Goods, Homeware, Objects, Sculptures, Studio Anansi, VesselsAt once rooted in tradition and embracing of new design languages, Studio Anansi explores the beauty of blackness through collectible objects that deftly harmonize simplistic form and complex tactility. Meeting at the intersection of art and design, each piece is made from wood – chosen for its tactile and yielding nature – and revisits traditional craft in a thoroughly modern way. After being hand-turned, the sculpted objects undergo a specialized burning process that results in an appearance that manages to be both fluid and static, and one that intentionally conveys the struggles, events, love, loss, pain, suffering and – above all – beauty that the black body endures.€1.650,00 incl. Yaa Container – Short
Art, Collectible objects, Goods, Homeware, Objects, Sculptures, Small Storage, Studio Anansi, VesselsAt once rooted in tradition and embracing of new design languages, Studio Anansi explores the beauty of blackness through collectible objects that deftly harmonize simplistic form and complex tactility. Meeting at the intersection of art and design, each piece is made from wood – chosen for its tactile and yielding nature – and revisits traditional craft in a thoroughly modern way. After being hand-turned, the sculpted objects undergo a specialized burning process that results in an appearance that manages to be both fluid and static, and one that intentionally conveys the struggles, events, love, loss, pain, suffering and – above all – beauty that the black body endures.€1.300,00 incl. Ashtray “Crown”
Collectible objects, Goods, Homeware, Library, Objects, OfficeAn ashtray in unlacquered polished brass designed by Carl Auböck II circa 1950. The crown is now being cast, using the same sculptured wooden positive mould, in the same workshop by Carl Auböck IV. The fourth-generation Viennese workshop of Carl Auböck combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. The enduring nature of Auböck designs like this Crown Ashtray can be attributed to “simplicity and high quality—no fashionable tricks,” says Carl Auböck IV, who now oversees the workshop with his sister, Maria. “Such artefacts develop a soul over time, a certain patina.” [spb_text_block title="" animation="none" animation_delay="0" simplified_controls="yes" custom_css_percentage="no" padding_vertical="0" padding_horizontal="0" margin_vertical="0" border_size="0" border_styling_global="default" width="1/1" el_position="first last"][/spb_text_block] [spb_toggle title="+ Care" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"]

Dough Vase – Cream
Homeware, Kitchen & Tableware, Objects, Tableware, VesselsOrganic in feel with an emphatic rounded lip, this stoneware vase features a gradated glaze that moves from matt at the base to glossy at the rim. The DOUGH ceramics range – named to highlight the common ground of kneading in both baking and pottery – comprises four essential pieces: a mug, a jug, a bowl and a platter. Hand-shaped in the Toogood studio before being cast in stoneware, the pieces share a pared-back yet playful simplicity; the mugs and pitchers boast chunky, outsized handles, while the platter and bowl have a rounded, swelling quality that calls to mind rising dough. All are available in two matt glazes, cream and charcoal, featuring a subtle speckling effect. In addition, two decorative pieces – a vase and a centrepiece – complement the range. Echoing the subtly organic swell of the tableware, they are distinguished by a reactive glaze treatment that transitions between silky matt and shiny gloss in a single piece.
