Art, Ceramics, Simone NegriUnique ceramic sculpture by Simone Negri. The universal classicism ardently desired by Simone Negri stands out for its penetrating diffusion of the element of time. In his interpretation and representation of the present ideal, once again, what must happen, will happen. How architecture feeds the imagination of art. Despite the fundamental functions that architecture must perform, the best examples continue to inspire artists across all genres with their masterful use of space, harmony and proportion. Art, Ceramics, David UmemotoUnique concrete sculpture by David Umemoto. The stairs lead to a void, the walls rise to nothing, the ceilings seem useless. The work of David Umemoto exudes mystery, stimulates the imagination, but at the same time gives a sense of reflective discipline. "My most recent works are studies on volume. In the twilight zone between sculpture and architecture, these pieces evoke the feeling of temporary buildings and monuments that stand in distant and remote countries. Art, Marijke De Cock, PaintingsMarijke De Cock lives and works in Antwerp, where she previously studied Fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. She has been working for years as a designer within the team of Dries Van Noten, where she specialises among other things, in the conception and creation of exceptional ornaments and jewellery. An engagement that in a sense inspired her personal practice, by adopting an established craft that is usually related to the garment it is meant to serve, yet which she allows to function autonomously and in full. It is an ancient and traditional, time-consuming technique – involving working with glass beads and passed from generation to generation – which she sensibly juxtaposes with her fascination for the hand that, as it were, moves by itself, seems to make its own decisions, and transcends thought. It all together manifests itself in distinctive series of abstracted, intuitive wall sculptures which, adorned with beads, above all celebrate the desire to create, using a material that goes back thousands of years, motivating us from childhood onwards to invent ornaments with it, to embellish a person or a place.*This item is not available for purchase online. Art, Ceramics, Maria KristoferssonSwedish ceramic artist, Maria Kristofersson’s drawings are a basis for her work in clay. Her works can be described as three-dimensional drawings, in which texture, lines, and shadows are crucial elements of her work. The distinctive boxed shaped forms included in this collection, are the baseline for her sensitive surfaces, where expression overruns function. Her works juxtapose a fragile construction with a strong shape. Delicate yet solid, her work has a restrained colour palette including whites and terracottas. Untitled Sculpture 01
Art, Leo Lopez, SculpturesSculpture in Marbre de Caune (FR) by Leo Alessandro Lopez Leo is a Swedish-Costa Rican artist which expressed himself in various ways, one of which is sculptural work. The marble stone is part of the series '1000-year-old-stones'. This type of stone was a lot used in the 1800`s in churches, for columns and holy sculptures, representing the body and flesh of Christ. The seed for this series was planted during a cultural visit in Italy, where religious people kiss/touch a certain part of a statue/sculpture, making it soft and shiny over time. Leo took this idea further and envisioned the Greek myth of Sisyphus, where the eponymous character is condemned for eternity to push a huge rock to the top of the mountain, for having challenged God. But each time, when almost reaching the top, the stone falls down. With the Sculpture, Leo envisions how this rock would look like, after these hundreds of years touching the same part of the stone, smoothing the surface.€950,00 incl. InHale Wall Piece
Art, Ben Storms, SculpturesIn Hale Wallpiece is a work that reflects light. Made of inflated stainless steel, brass or copper—a technique of which the results are always unpredictable—it takes the shape of a cushion. Storms inflates sheet metal against a piece of stone and thereby transforms it into a three-dimensional shape which echoes the shape of the stone. This process not only changes the look but also the structural properties of the metal. He first explored this idea for the In Hale table, where the cushion supports a massive block of marble. Here, the cushion is left by itself and placed against the wall. Like other works by Ben Storms, it defies our archetypical preconceptions of materials, shapes and functions: the solid and heavy metal here looks soft and functions as some sort of mirror by reflecting light in a poetic manner. Edition of 8 + 2 A.P. Variations of In Hale Wallpiece can be custom made.*This item is not available for purchase online. Please contact us for further inquiries or orders.

Ceramic 1
Ceramics, Maria Kristofersson, VesselsSwedish ceramic artist, Maria Kristofersson’s drawings are a basis for her work in clay. Untitled 1
Art, Ceramics, Homeware, Linda Ouhbi, VesselsBorn in Casablanca and currently living in Paris, Linda Ouhbi became acquainted with pottery in an atelier in Marrakech during a stay in her native country. Linda creates pieces in stoneware using a hand building and coil technique. This ancestral process requires a slow construction and permits the development of a relationship with each piece of artwork. Linda`s work questions the ideas of function and utility, but above all, the notion of time and progress. The earthy-used aspect of her ceramics results from glaze research undertaken in the ceramicist’s workshop using raw natural materials of minerals, metal oxides and rocks, enamel recipes developed in her workshop giving each piece of artwork a sensation of aged patina.*This item is not available for purchase online.
