Art, Paintings, Wayne PateAcrylic and paper collage on arches paper. Wayne Pate’s paintings share an affinity with the concept of a road trip. One which starts with a planned route but then meanders off in pursuit of intrigue and the kind of authenticity which follows on the heels of spontaneity. A native of the US, Wayne is currently located in New Zealand (as life imitates art) and his recent collection of works, while anchored by the visual representation of ancient architectural motifs, engaging collage, polychromy and colours reminiscent of natural patinas, echo’s an essence of the intrepid and the vibrant spirit of serendipity.*This item is not available for purchase online. Art, Ceramics, Simone NegriUnique ceramic sculpture by Simone Negri. The universal classicism ardently desired by Simone Negri stands out for its penetrating diffusion of the element of time. In his interpretation and representation of the present ideal, once again, what must happen, will happen. How architecture feeds the imagination of art. Despite the fundamental functions that architecture must perform, the best examples continue to inspire artists across all genres with their masterful use of space, harmony and proportion. Furniture, Side Table, TablesAt once rooted in tradition and embracing of new design languages, Studio Anansi explores the beauty of blackness through collectible objects that deftly harmonize simplistic form and complex tactility. Meeting at the intersection of art and design, each piece is made from wood – chosen for its tactile and yielding nature – and revisits traditional craft in a thoroughly modern way. After being hand-turned, the sculpted objects undergo a specialized burning process that results in an appearance that manages to be both fluid and static, and one that intentionally conveys the struggles, events, love, loss, pain, suffering and – above all – beauty that the black body endures. Please contact us for further inquiries.

Aliki Christoforou – Anamnesis
Books & Magazines, Goods, LibraryOn December 29th, 2017 Aliki Christoforou (b. 1992, Greek/Belgian) was the victim of a severe traffic accident that immobilised her in hospital for a prolonged time. Anamnesis was born from a series of black and white photos taken during this extensive hospitalisation: “When I developed the rolls of film, I had to my surprise no recollection of many of the moments that appeared in the images. They were greatly distant and obscure to me; completely eclipsed from my memory. This finding was terrifying. What was the origin of these blackouts? My head trauma or the medication? The interminable days spent in the hospital?. [spb_text_block title="" animation="none" animation_delay="0" simplified_controls="yes" custom_css_percentage="no" padding_vertical="0" padding_horizontal="0" margin_vertical="0" border_size="0" border_styling_global="default" width="1/1" el_position="first last"][/spb_text_block] [spb_toggle title="+ Read more" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"]
Much is said about the indicial value of photography, of the famous ‘ça-a-été’ of Barthes. What was revealed to me through these photographs had indeed taken place, yet it did not correspond with my perception of reality. In order to unveil in these images the recondite memories of that uncertain period, as they existed to me in a veiled, opaque and mysterious cloud, the prints have been manipulated in the darkroom to reflect both the failures of my memory and the strange paradox I find myself in now: a strong feeling to neglect the incident and, at the same time, the need to remember. Aristotle used two terms to speak of memory. On one hand there was the ‘mneme’ [μνήμη] for passive memory, that is the simple conservation of a perceived instant of one’s life, and on the other hand there was the ‘anamnesis’ [ἀνάμνησις] for active or reminiscent memory, that is the search for memories extracted from one’s previous lives. Hence, mneme is linked to the mind while anamnesis derives from the soul. Anamnesis interrogates memory from oblivion.” [/spb_toggle] [spb_toggle title="+ Publication details" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"] First edition of 500 copies. Art, Marijke De Cock, PaintingsMarijke De Cock lives and works in Antwerp, where she previously studied Fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. She has been working for years as a designer within the team of Dries Van Noten, where she specialises among other things, in the conception and creation of exceptional ornaments and jewellery. An engagement that in a sense inspired her personal practice, by adopting an established craft that is usually related to the garment it is meant to serve, yet which she allows to function autonomously and in full. It is an ancient and traditional, time-consuming technique – involving working with glass beads and passed from generation to generation – which she sensibly juxtaposes with her fascination for the hand that, as it were, moves by itself, seems to make its own decisions, and transcends thought. It all together manifests itself in distinctive series of abstracted, intuitive wall sculptures which, adorned with beads, above all celebrate the desire to create, using a material that goes back thousands of years, motivating us from childhood onwards to invent ornaments with it, to embellish a person or a place.*This item is not available for purchase online. Baumbench
Furniture, Art, Kaspar Hamacher, Sculptures, Seating, Stool, Bench & PoufBench by Kaspar Hamacher Taking nature as his basis, Kaspar Hamacher is focused resolutely on physical rather than conceptual design. As he says himself, he feels more craftsman than designer. The things he can do with wood appeal to the imagination: whether it is a tree stump or a piece of leather, the key is authenticity in every step of his design process. Hamacher’s working method always results in a unique, personal piece. A piece of design with a deeper meaning; with a soul..*This item is not available for purchase online. And finally, those who utter the cry of abandonment and pain. There are also memories and promises. I like to hear you talk about the quintessence of love. So I follow you, here and there. Dudi Hasson – As Far as Close
Books & Magazines, Goods, Library“Addicted” to photography from a very young age, autodidact photographer Dudi Hasson (b. 1981, Israeli) embarked on his photographic journey at the age of 16. Ever since then, his work has explored the thin line between intimacy and alienation. Inspired by people and places, Hasson is continually curious about the nature of relationships—whether they’re between the camera and its subject, between the subjects themselves, or internally between himself and the camera. Dudi strives to capture rare moments of the “in-between”, i.e. in between love and hate, joy and misery, truth and lies, far and close. Eruscan Urn in Polychromy No.XVII
Art, Paintings, Wayne PateAcrylic, paper collage and massimoalba on board with Ornate frame. Homeware, Collectible objects, Goods, Kitchen & Tableware, Objects, TablewareA brass bottlestopper in unlacquered polished brass designed by Carl Auböck II circa 1950. The fourth-generation Viennese workshop of Carl Auböck combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. Joe Lai & Heitai Cheung – Big Hair
Books & Magazines, Goods, LibraryInspired by ‘upstyles’ and weaving techniques from the 1960s of Tokyo; especially by the pioneering of famous geisha hair master Junji Noburyu (or ’Shinryu’), photographer Joe Lai (b. 1977, French) and hairstylist Heitai Cheung (b. 1989, Hong Kong) became contagious by Noburyu’s passion by applying his techniques on modern Asian women. The fundamental book of which techniques Big Hair is based on was originally referenced as a technical book, but for Lai and Cheung a new realm of magic was found within its pages, as well as for the participating models who all had dreamt about being styled with this classical hairstyle. Heitai Cheung devoted a year to perfect the techniques needed to complete the series. Lisa Sorgini – Behind Glass
Books & Magazines, Goods, LibraryLisa Sorgini (b. 1980, Australian) is a photographic artist that has found her own maternal experience to be central to the themes in her work. Behind Glass, offers a layered exploration of motherhood as shown during the months of the burgeoning COVID-19 pandemic, as unprecedented stay-at-home measures swept across Australia and the World. It’s an opus that stands as both a creative commentary and an important cultural record. Born of the pandemic, shooting began for the series as the first stay-at-home orders came into force in Australia. Making portraits of those in her immediate community, It’s a body of work motivated by a need to make visible the unseen role of parenting during such isolation and one that evokes a spectrum of deep tenderness, tedium, quietude, love, frustration, fear, and despair. These works present the light and darkness of motherhood during these extended periods of lockdown; the use of soft lighting and tonal contrast bringing this metaphor to visual life. [spb_text_block title="" animation="none" animation_delay="0" simplified_controls="yes" custom_css_percentage="no" padding_vertical="0" padding_horizontal="0" margin_vertical="0" border_size="0" border_styling_global="default" width="1/1" el_position="first last"][/spb_text_block] [spb_toggle title="+ Read more" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"]
Each work is framed by a window in the home, a practice that feels poignant given the circumstances of mandated isolation where no contact was allowed. It’s a process that suspends each subject within a liminal space of transference and adaptation, one that mothers endure but children are protected from. Babies are seen clinging to their mothers. Tiny hands tug at clothing and skin. Each image, a delicate assemblage of flesh, unposed, set against the backdrop of quiet familiarity. There’s tenderness, but also an omnipresent claustrophobia and intensity. Dewy faces and subdued tonality lends some works the appearance of a baroque portrait. It’s a disarming technique that adds to the body of work’s transcendence and timeless narrative. One mother looks out from the pane – seen for a moment in a time they were only just beginning to understand, her expression almost indecipherable. Behind glass, mother and child appear like living and breathing masterpieces – divine comedies of domesticity. Whilst informing of a particular time, Behind Glass also speaks more broadly of the existing maternal experience. Its most blatant subtext is that of motherhood as contextualised within the modern western milieu; where women lie at the core of an intense inner world whilst continuing to remain begrudgingly detached from the outer. Yet central to this story is also the concept of hope and connective awareness. Mothers joined through a collective experience. Through this work, the unseen is seen. [/spb_toggle] [spb_toggle title="+ Publication details" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"] The book contains a foreword by writer and curator Federica Chiocchetti (b. 1983, Italian). Ode Platform Vessel
Homeware, Art, Collectible objects, Goods, Objects, Sculptures, Studio Anansi, VesselsAt once rooted in tradition and embracing of new design languages, Studio Anansi explores the beauty of blackness through collectible objects that deftly harmonize simplistic form and complex tactility.

Three Relationships, One Devoid of Yellow
Art, Paintings, Wayne PateAcrylic and Moulded Stripped Italian Linen over frame and board. “Vice Versa” Floor Lamp
Floor, LightingCarl Aubock Vice Versa floor lamps for Wiener Werkstatte, Austria, c1960. Created from polished brass, a cast iron base and topped with a fabric lampshade. The inverted conical base and shade balance really nicely and create a minimal aesthetic. The fourth-generation Viennese workshop of Carl Auböck combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. The enduring nature of Auböck designs like this floor lamp can be attributed to “simplicity and high quality—no fashionable tricks,” says Carl Auböck IV, who now oversees the workshop with his sister, Maria. “Such artefacts develop a soul over time, a certain patina.”Please contact us for further inquiries.

Ashtray “Crown”
Homeware, Collectible objects, Goods, Library, Objects, OfficeAn ashtray in unlacquered polished brass designed by Carl Auböck II circa 1950. The crown is now being cast, using the same sculptured wooden positive mould, in the same workshop by Carl Auböck IV. The fourth-generation Viennese workshop of Carl Auböck combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. The enduring nature of Auböck designs like this Crown Ashtray can be attributed to “simplicity and high quality—no fashionable tricks,” says Carl Auböck IV, who now oversees the workshop with his sister, Maria. “Such artefacts develop a soul over time, a certain patina.” [spb_text_block title="" animation="none" animation_delay="0" simplified_controls="yes" custom_css_percentage="no" padding_vertical="0" padding_horizontal="0" margin_vertical="0" border_size="0" border_styling_global="default" width="1/1" el_position="first last"][/spb_text_block] [spb_toggle title="+ Care" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"]

Walk In The Park is a practice-led exploration into functional and sculptural objects, each work a homage to the variations of wood available in New Zealand. This tactile devotion extends into Sam`s desire to create products that are both beautiful and functional, blending the organic with the domestic. Please contact us for further inquiries.

Sam is not using the timbers that are milled and kiln dried in large sawmills. All the woods are sourced from local small sawmills or arborists, who produce small volume but diverse timbers. All the timbers from there are air-dried and the conditions are various. You might need to expect some imperfect characters such as knots, bark, uneven edges, cracks and some bug holes from my finished works. However, Sam is not using some poor quality materials if they will bothering and devaluing the works. Therefore, we believe that all the works are acceptable for sale. [/spb_toggle] -
Cabinet – Achttien
Furniture, Sideboard, StorageCabinet from the Achttien collection. The Achttien collection, reveals the hidden beauty behind scrap. Three objects — a chest; a stool and a shelf deeply rooted on a zero waste principle, compose the Achttien collection designed by Haring, Frank Stabel, & —Voud, Jan Jacobs. Achttien is the result of an ideological intention by which the material choice underlined the furniture’s size, shape and proportions insofar to maximise the use of material and thus minimise wastage. A singular material delineates these three objects. Discarded yoghurt pots, chopping boards, plastic packaging and bottles (among other waste streams) are carefully selected, arranged and pressed into 2m x 1m terrazzo-like slabs that are later transformed in the hands of Haring —Voud. Available in different colour waves, each slab of recycled plastic has a unique composition and appearance that tell their own recycling tale. Soft and warm to the touch, their mottled appearance reveal, at a close look, recognisable scraps of packaging on the surface. Chain Nickel Plated
Homeware, Collectible objects, Goods, Library, Objects, OfficeA Chain in iron nickel plated designed by Carl Auböck II circa 1950. The hand is now being cast, using the same sculptured wooden positive mould, in the same workshop by Carl Auböck IV. The fourth-generation Viennese workshop of Carl Auböck combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. The enduring nature of Auböck designs like this Paperweight Chain can be attributed to “simplicity and high quality—no fashionable tricks,” says Carl Auböck IV, who now oversees the workshop with his sister, Maria. “Such artefacts develop a soul over time, a certain patina.” [spb_text_block title="" animation="none" animation_delay="0" simplified_controls="yes" custom_css_percentage="no" padding_vertical="0" padding_horizontal="0" margin_vertical="0" border_size="0" border_styling_global="default" width="1/1" el_position="first last"][/spb_text_block] [spb_toggle title="+ Care" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"]

Goods, Library, OfficeSimple A4-document holder with elastic closure [spb_toggle title="+ Leather" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"] Vegetable tanned calf is a thicker and more rigid type of leather. Vegetable-tanned calf is a full grain aniline leather that was tanned with vegetable extracts. Aniline leather is the most natural looking leather as it has not been protected by a surface coating of polymer and pigments. It gives your item a unique aspect and touch. As it is a thicker and plain type of leather, stains, scratches and patina belong to the normal aging process of your item. Differences in tone, shading, gradation, and the possible alterations of the material are to be regarded as a sign of quality. [/spb_toggle] [spb_toggle title="+ Care" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"] Avoid any contact with water as vegetable tanned is a dry type of leather that will absorb water. In case you do, dry your item immediately by spreading the water out evenly. To avoid any problem with humidity, you can treat your vegetable tanned calf leather with a specific waterproof spray. The use of care products for this type of leather is not recommended during the first years. To clean your item, glycerine soap or water can be applied thanks to a soft cotton cloth; but make sure not to get the leather soaked, as vegetable tanned calf is not stable in water. The leather tends to discolor and become harder. If stained, applying any type of care product on a specific area might create a larger stain. Goods, Library, OfficeDocument holder or computer case (13"), with 3 flaps Elastic closure [spb_toggle title="+ Leather" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first last"] Vegetable tanned calf is a thicker and more rigid type of leather. To clean your item, glycerine soap or water can be applied thanks to a soft cotton cloth ; but make sure not to get the leather soaked, as vegetable tanned calf is not stable in water.
