Born in Casablanca and currently living in Paris, Linda Ouhbi became acquainted with pottery in an atelier in Marrakech during a stay in her native country. Linda creates pieces in stoneware using a hand building and coil technique. This ancestral process requires a slow construction and permits the development of a relationship with each piece of artwork. Linda`s work questions the ideas of function and utility, but above all, the notion of time and progress. The earthy-used aspect of her ceramics results from glaze research undertaken in the ceramicist’s workshop using raw natural materials of minerals, metal oxides and rocks, enamel recipes developed in her workshop giving each piece of artwork a sensation of aged patina.
